Our 29th Annual Juried Art Show is ONLINE this year! We are excited to provide a widely-viewed show so that our wonderful professional artists’ works can be seen all over the world. We are thrilled that with this online option, they will not have to pay for shipping their works of art to the BFAC! We are hopeful that this type of exposure will further the careers of the hundreds of talented artists who participate in our Juried Show!

THIS YEAR’S JUROR
This year’s juror is John Cook. Mr. Cook was born in Dallas, Texas in 1941 and studied art at The University of Texas in Arlington (1960-1962) and The Art Center in Los Angeles (1962-1964). Since then, he’s worked as freelance illustrator for 32 years in Dallas. His first solo show was in 1999 at the Victorian Gallery in Dallas. He presents a dozen annual shows in Dallas’ Southwest Art Gallery, and likes to brand his painting style as “Impatient Realism.” To read more about our juror, click here.
This is a national/international competition open to all artists 21 years of age and over. Artwork that has been exhibited at the BFAC Juried Show in the past is not eligible to be entered in the Juried Show. Original artwork must not be older than 3 years, except in Bronze Sculpture.
Original, 2 and 3-dimensional art only. No photography, prints, or computer-generated artwork will be accepted.
Oil, watercolor, scratchboard, acrylic, gouache, alkyd, tempera, mixed media, pastel, pencil, pen and ink, aquatint, fiber, bronze, wood, glass and ceramic will be accepted. If you have a question regarding your media, please email us.
DIGITAL IMAGE SUBMISSION
Using the form below, submit one jpg image that’s of 5 megabytes or larger. Submissions with frames visible will be disqualified. Please make sure you have our email (firstname.lastname@example.org) in your contacts so that our Submission Confirmation Email and the Notification Email will not go into your Junk/Spam Folder.
ENTRY FORM AND FEE
A completed online form and non-refundable entry fee (U.S. funds) must accompany each entry. The entry fee is $25.00 per entry. Submit as many entries as you wish. Once you complete your entry form, your submission confirmation page and email will direct you to PayPal where you can pay your entry fee. Failure to do so will disqualify your entry from consideration into this year’s online show.
NOTIFICATION OF SELECTION
All entrants will receive a Notification Email on or before Wednesday, July 15, 2020 letting them know whether or not their work has been accepted for this year’s show.
DISPLAY AND SALE OF ORIGINAL ART
The BFAC prefers entries that are for sale. When completing your entry form, please state a price reflecting current market value for your artwork. For any artwork sold, the BFAC shall retain twenty-five percent (25%) of the selling price as commission and shall remit seventy-five percent (75%) of the selling price to the artist. Any “Not For Sale” entries should indicate this in the appropriate section of the entry form. The BFAC assumes reproduction rights for promotional purposes only. If a piece is sold between entry and notification, the piece is still eligible to compete in the show. It will be the responsibility of the artist to contact the BFAC to let us know that the piece has been sold.
