ABOUT OUR JUROR

This year’s juror is John Cook. Mr. Cook was born in Dallas, Texas in 1941 and studied art at The University of Texas in Arlington (1960-1962) and The Art Center in Los Angeles (1962-1964). Since then, he’s worked as freelance illustrator for 32 years in Dallas. His first solo show was in 1999 at the Victorian Gallery in Dallas. He presents a dozen annual shows in Dallas’ Southwest Art Gallery, and likes to brand his painting style as “Impatient Realism.”
