Juror - Scott Myers of Granbury, TX
Scott
A. Myers is a painter and sculptor who is best known for his depiction
of Western Americana. Scott’s subject matter ranges from
the contemporary cowboy to the historical West as well as ranch
children and their families.
Myers received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Texas
A & M University in 1984. Equine practice allowed Scott to
study horse anatomy on a daily basis and to develop a feel and
sensitivity for horses that can only come from living and working
around them constantly.
In 1994, Myers was elected as a Professional Sculptor Member of
the National Sculpture Society, America’s oldest organization
of professional sculptors. In 2003, Scott’s bronze portrait
of Elvin Bethea of the Houston Oilers was placed in the NFL’s
Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio; then in 2006, Scott
was again selected to sculpt a Hall of Fame portrait, this time
of the Dallas Cowboy's Rayfield Wright. Myers’ paintings
and sculpture are displayed throughout North America and Europe.
He is represented by Trailside Galleries, Scottsdale, Arizona
and Jackson, Wyoming and Whistle Pik Galleries, Fredericksburg,
Texas and Fallbrook Fine Art, Fallbrook, California.

Juror's Comments
Congratulations to all the winners. This was a tremendous show
full of wonderful pieces. Remember, judging is done by one person
who views each piece based on their past experiences and preferences.
If you did not win an award, do not be discouraged because truly,
“beauty is in the eye of the beholder.”
Scott Myers
